Daniel Barton Lempka

The Bergen Evening Record
June 21, 1944

Click here to view the Bergen Evening Record June 21, 1944 article which tells of aerial gunner and radio operator Daniel Barton Lempka’s Superfortress being shot down on December 20, 1943.

They are now confirming that he had been killed 6 months later. The newspaper spells his name wrong and he is not listed on the
Original Wall Unit at Hackensack High School.

Daniel Barton Lempka is listed on the World War II
Memorial Plaque at City Hall
in Hackensack. He was solidly connected to the community and I would rather err on the side gratefulness than to not list his name for lack of information.

Let us never forget their sacrifice.
